Berenice, una mujer feliz
Para
RLNC es un honor que nuestro novelista, además de sus Relatos
subcontinentales que publica mes a mes en este medio, nos gratifique
con esta noticia que con inmenso orgullo y satisfacción damos a conocer al
mundo.
Esta
nueva novela, con toda seguridad, por los temas de actualidad que ahí desarropa
sin tapujos, aunque trasfigurados con el pincel de la literatura de ficción
social, hará que sus lectores, tópense donde se topen, se identifiquen y
sientan que también los afecta de alguna inexorable manera. Porque, como lo
plasma en la contraportada:
...el
rancio perfume de la nostalgia social terminó por contagiar hasta la esencia de
la flor de cera en un final que aletarga el alma de los sensibles... ¡cada vez
menos en aquella sociedad sinigual y siempre igual!
Sus
frases comienzan a engarzar al lector desde la primera página, sin soltarlo
hasta llegar al trémulo final, gracias a esa técnica tan suya que hace evocar al
artesano de sarapes quien, tras teñir la lana en cinco colores, que en Enciso
son historias de vida cotidiana hispanoamericana, pasa a la urdimbre y lo monta
en el telar de la trama subcontinental, con ese satírico y fino tejido para
entrelazar franjas multicolores que semejan castas sociales, en apariencia
distintas. Sin embargo, como en los extremos y el centro, sin importar
tonalidades, al fin y al cabo todos terminan siendo entrelazados para formar el
tapiz de la sociedad actual, camino a la anunciada hecatombe.
El
eje de la novela, con sabor socioambiental, lo conforma una pareja, hijos de
familias poderosas y cuestionadas dentro de la sociedad nacional. Entorno a ellos
giran personajes que, aunque parecieran no tener nada que ver con los demás,
menos con la mágica historia de aquellos, terminan siendo hilos de lana indisolubles
e inmersos en la misma pieza literaria.
Los
dos protagonistas, sin estarlo buscando, tras veintidós años de obligada
separación y una difusa promesa de volverse a encontrar, lo hacen, se
encuentran por casualidad del destino durante una noche de octubre gris en la
esquina suroccidental de la carrera 15 con calle 76 de la ciudad capital de
aquel país subcontinental.
En
ese país a los mandatarios de turno les corresponde pregonar que es el más
feliz del mundo, pese a la imparable pobreza que por doquiera asfixia y
aniquila.
Para cuando vuelven a encontrarse cada uno
carga alforjas sociales contradictorias y disímiles, en relación con sus
opulentas y cuestionadas familias de donde ellos provienen, al interior de una sociedad
condenada a repetir una y muchas veces su tragicomedia nacional.
Linajes
de ignominia a los dos agobiaba desde niños, con mayor dolor al llegar a su
adolescencia indómita y madurez temprana. Razón esta por la cual intentaron por
su cuenta escapar de sus entornos agobiantes, cada uno a su manera, con tal de
librase de tan pesada y manchada suntuosidad. Refundida social entre bandadas
de gorriones del rebusque en calle y a la vista de todos para hacer más difícil
su ubicación y reintegro al redil frondío que los esperaba.
Pese
a sus particulares esfuerzos e ingenios, el rancio perfume de la nostalgia
social terminó por contagiar hasta la esencia de la flor de cera en un final
que aletarga el alma de los sensibles... ¡cada vez menos en aquella sociedad
sinigual y siempre igual!

Berenice, a happy woman
Colombian writer Wilson Rogelio Enciso , a columnist for Revista Latina NC , gave us an award to give the scoop on the publication and international launch of his eighth work, seventh novel: ‘Berenice, a happy woman’ .
For RLNC it is an honor that our novelist, in addition to his Relatos subcontinentales that he publishes month after month in this medium, gratifies us with this news that with immense pride and satisfaction we make known to the world.
This new novel, with all certainty, due to the current issues that it unfolds there openly, although transfigured with the brush of social fiction literature, will make its readers, wherever they come across, identify and feel that it also affects them some inexorable way. Because, as reflected on the back cover:
…the rancid perfume of social nostalgia ended up infecting even the essence of the wax flower in an ending that numbs the soul of the sensitive… less and less in that unique and always the same society!
His sentences begin to engage the reader from the first page, without letting go until reaching the tremulous end, thanks to that technique of his that evokes the serapes artisan who, after dyeing the wool in five colors, which in Enciso are life stories Hispanic-American daily life, passes to the warp and mounts it on the loom of the subcontinental plot, with that satirical and fine fabric to intertwine multicolored stripes that resemble social castes, apparently different. However, as in the extremes and the center, regardless of shades, in the end they all end up being intertwined to form the tapestry of today’s society, on the way to the announced catastrophe.
The axis of the novel, with a socio-environmental flavor, is made up of a couple, children of powerful families and questioned within the national society. Around them revolve characters that, although they seem to have nothing to do with the others, less with the magical history of those, end up being indissoluble threads of wool and immersed in the same literary piece.
The two protagonists, without looking for it, after twenty-two years of forced separation and a vague promise to meet again, they do it, they meet by chance of fate during a gray October night on the southwest corner of Carrea 15 with Calle 76 in the capital city of that subcontinental country.
In that country, it is up to the leaders of the day to proclaim that it is the happiest in the world, despite the unstoppable poverty that suffocates and annihilates everywhere.
By the time they meet again, each one carries contradictory and dissimilar social saddlebags, in relation to their opulent and questionable families from which they come, within a society condemned to repeat its national tragicomedy over and over again.
Lineages of ignominy overwhelmed both of them since they were children, with greater pain when they reached their indomitable adolescence and early maturity. This is the reason why they tried to escape from their oppressive environments on their own, each in their own way, in order to get rid of such heavy and stained sumptuousness. Social refoundation among flocks of sparrows from the search in the street and in full view of all to make their location more difficult and return to the leafy fold that awaited them.
